I originally planned to paint Singapore as the garden city that it is.  Somehow, I ended up doing what I am always compelled to do: create a cityscape and inject my own twist into it.  I used a pseudo-still life approach to show how Singapore seems to be coming to its own, as if it has had some sort of second wind – redefining its skyline and ultimately, its place in the world.
